Hi, I recommend you read this article by Helen Fisher, an anthropologist who has studied romantic interpersonal relationships for the last several decades. In the article, The Biology of Attraction, she talks about the similarities in behavior between humans and other animals while initiating contact with a “potential” mate. But it also touches on the topic you asked. For example, she mentions the unconscious behaviors employed by both sexes when trying to get the attention of someone they like (e.g. body movements, eye contact, smells).
